We Are Officially a 501c3 Nonprofit

Our IRS determination letter arrived: BeeReady is officially recognized as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit. Donations are tax-deductible, and every gift moves another AED closer to a sideline.

The letter we have been waiting for is here. The IRS has officially recognized BeeReady Sideline Response as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organization. Back in June we shared that we had incorporated in North Carolina and filed our application, and we promised to share the news the moment our determination letter arrived. It arrived, and we could not be more excited to tell you what it means.

What this means for donors

Donations to BeeReady are now tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Every gift goes straight to the mission: AED devices, American Heart Association training, and ready sidelines for young athletes. Keep your receipts, and as always, check with your own tax advisor since we are not tax professionals.

What this means for our mission

Tax-exempt status opens doors that were closed to us before. We can now apply for the grants that fund AED placements, qualify for the nonprofit programs and discounts that stretch every dollar further, and participate in employer matching programs that can double the impact of a supporter's gift. All of that adds up to the same simple outcome: more trained volunteers and more AEDs on the sidelines of youth sports.

Thank you for getting us here

This milestone belongs to everyone who believed in BeeReady before the IRS did: the founding families, the swimmers and coaches who welcomed us to their sidelines, and every person who donated, volunteered, or simply spread the word. If you help run a league, coach a team, or want to bring American Heart Association CPR, AED, and Basic Life Support training to your community, reach out through our site. We are officially a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and we are just getting started.
