How We Write and Review Health Content

BeeReady publishes articles about CPR, AEDs, Basic Life Support, and cardiac safety in youth sports. This page explains who writes them, when a physician reviews them, which sources we rely on, and how to tell us about a mistake.

Who writes our articles

Articles are written by the BeeReady team. They are educational. They are not medical advice, and they are not a substitute for hands-on, certified training with a qualified instructor.

BeeReady teaches American Red Cross CPR, AED, and Basic Life Support courses, and our articles are written to be consistent with that training.

Who reviews them

Our Medical Director, Dr. Elda Fisher, MD, is a physician and an American Red Cross certified CPR, AED, and Basic Life Support instructor.

A post shows the line "Medically reviewed by Dr. Elda Fisher" only after she has read that specific post and confirmed its clinical accuracy. Posts without that line have not been through physician review yet, and we do not add the credit until the review is done.

Which sources we use

We prefer primary, public sources and link them at the end of each article that relies on them:

  • The National Institutes of Health, including the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute and MedlinePlus
  • The American Red Cross
  • The U.S. Food and Drug Administration, for AED devices and accessories
  • Peer-reviewed research, linked through PubMed Central where it is freely available

We check that each source link works when we add it.

How we keep articles current

Resuscitation guidelines change as the science improves. When we make a meaningful change to an article, we show an "Updated" date under its title.

How to report an error

If you think something in one of our articles is wrong or out of date, email us at info@beeready.buzz with the page address and what you found. We read every report and correct the article when it needs it.
