We Are Officially a Nonprofit
Bee Ready is now an established North Carolina nonprofit corporation, and we've applied to the IRS for 501(c)(3) tax-exempt recognition. A big step toward putting more AEDs on more sidelines.

We have some big news to share. Bee Ready is now an established North Carolina nonprofit corporation, and we've submitted our application to the IRS to be recognized as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. It's a milestone we're proud of, and one that moves us closer to our mission: keeping kids safe on the sidelines of youth sports.
Officially incorporated
Bee Ready Sideline Response is now a formally incorporated North Carolina nonprofit corporation. That means we have a board, governing bylaws, and the legal foundation a lasting organization needs. It is the structure that lets us accept donations responsibly, place AEDs in communities, and grow the right way.
Filed with the IRS
We've also submitted our application to the IRS for 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status. Donations may be tax-deductible, and here's the good news for early supporters: if our application is approved, that recognition applies retroactively to our incorporation date of June 5, 2026, so gifts made now will count. Once it comes through, we'll also be eligible for the grants and matching programs that help nonprofits like ours do more. We'll share the news the moment our determination letter arrives. (We're not tax advisors, so please check with yours.)
What it means for the kids
This paperwork is not the exciting part of what we do. The exciting part is a trained volunteer and an AED on the sidelines of a swim meet or a soccer game, ready if the worst ever happens. But becoming a nonprofit is how we make that possible again and again, for more families and more fields. Thank you for being part of it from the very start.
