We Are Officially a Nonprofit

Update, July 17, 2026: The determination letter arrived. The IRS has officially recognized BeeReady as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, so donations are tax-deductible. Read the full announcement in our newer post, We Are Officially a 501c3 Nonprofit.

We have some big news to share. BeeReady is now an established North Carolina nonprofit corporation, and we've submitted our application to the IRS to be recognized as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. It's a milestone we're proud of, and one that moves us closer to our mission: keeping kids safe on the sidelines of youth sports.

Officially incorporated

BeeReady Sideline Response is now a formally incorporated North Carolina nonprofit corporation. That means we have a board, governing bylaws, and the legal foundation a lasting organization needs. It is the structure that lets us accept donations responsibly, place AEDs in communities, and grow the right way.

We've also submitted our application to the IRS for 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status. Once it comes through, donations will be tax-deductible, and we'll be eligible for the grants and matching programs that help nonprofits like ours do more. What it means for the kids

This paperwork is not the exciting part of what we do. The exciting part is a trained volunteer and an AED on the sidelines of a swim meet or a soccer game, ready if the worst ever happens. But becoming a nonprofit is how we make that possible again and again, for more families and more fields. Thank you for being part of it from the very start.
